JILLIAN HARRIS

Occupation: Host of Love It Or List It, wanna be blogger, designer of a few things (lol)

JillianDDescribe yourself in 100 words or less.

Energetic, sometimes to a fault. Big dreamer, fast thinker. I don’t consider consequences so it’s a good thing I am generally a ‘good person’ but I also have a TON of parking and speeding tickets (I’m not the best at learning from my mistakes). I think pretty much anything is possible and I get ill at the thought of hurting someone’s feelings. I can’t sit still and I’m ok with that, and even though I am a walking tornado, I love a clean and organized house. So I clean a lot. I am obsessed with my family, Justin, my dog, my phone and spaghetti Bolognese.

When do you feel most beautiful?

When I am eating healthy and working out. And when Kaitlin does my make-up on the set of LIOLI.

What are your “Not Enough” feelings?

I wish I was more patient, and I wish I was a better listener. That is a huge one for me… I like change A LOT so it’s hard for me to stick to ONE thing..which I wish i was also better at. I am also not good at baking …I think it’s the patience thing.

You are one multi-talented, crazy busy, super woman wearing many hats and somehow you do it all while looking incredibly beautiful, stylish, put together, calm, cool, and collected. Do you ever have moments where this isn’t the case or things aren’t so picture perfect?

[laughs] Well, I have clearly done a horrible job of representing myself! I am always a disaster. I have dents in my car, I lose a pair of glasses a week, I can’t find my Visa at the moment, and sometimes I drink cold coffee that I left in my car from the day before. I just don’t take pictures of that stuff…but trust me – it’s not picture perfect!

Has being in the public eye affected the amount you think about your appearance? If yes, how so?

OF COURSE. I got my nose job because of a fan who told me my nose looked like a hotdog. I cried for days and then booked an appointment. Might sound sad, but I actually LOVE my ‘new’ nose. My nose had been broken a few times, so in actuality it just went back to the way it was supposed to be. But the fact of the matter is a stranger made me feel bad, and I changed my appearance because of it. Last year, i put on a few extra pounds in my tummy but was ok with it. For years I got the “anorexic” or “too skinny” comments, so I was excited to post a pic with a little junk in my trunk! When I did, about 5 people called me fat and I was so sad I deleted the picture. It’s horrible how those comments can make you feel…I feel that I have a healthy self-esteem, but there is only so much a person can take!

Have you ever struggled with a lack of confidence or insecurities? If yes, how did you get through it?

Yes. Well, I would say my family always gets me back on track. They love me to the world and back and always remind me what my dreams are and to lift my head up and love myself. I would give them full credit for getting me through my ‘low times.’

What are 5 things you love about yourself?

1. My sense of humour

2. My open-mindness

3. My ability to get MAD and then let it go

4. I’m a softy

5. My love for my family

JillianHarrisTrioSlave to the scale, or not so much?

NOPE. I am a slave to fitting into my jeans. if they don’t fit…then we’ve got problems…other than that i just like to feel good!

I say cellulite, you think:

My a**. Yes, I know my butt is small but cellulite is hereditary and trust me…it’s there.

I say plastic surgery, you think:

Go for it. If you truly think it will make you happy. YOU. no one else.

JillianHarrisQuote

There are so many girls and women who follow you on social media and look up to you in so many ways. What is your message to other women out there?

You miss 100{f31dd2d1944685ce2ae88154a0fca4e838c1d5c4feb0a8c87e0077bbf24e5273} of the shots you don’t take (I have pretty much taken this from Gretzky) and if you have it in your heart to try something…do it. And when you fail, DO NOT pity yourself; laugh at yourself, learn, and try again in some form or another. Don’t take yourself too seriously and don’t judge others…for whatever they may be doing. While this campaign is all about being natural, there are some beautiful women out there who have implants, botox, or whatever the case may be. As long as no one is intending harm…let them be who they want to be, and that includes yourself. You owe NO one any explanation, providing your intent is positive; while it is tempting to follow trends and ‘be perfect,’ eventually you realize you only feel best when you are truly yourself. Oh! And one thing that I wish we ALL could do more, including myself, is put down our DARN IPHONES and be present.
