Tell us about yourself in under 100 words:

I am an extremely driven and creative artist from Washington, DC. I am now living and working in New York City on a journey to pursue my dreams. I am on a mission representing young girl artists of color so that we can have a bigger voice in the art world.

What is something about you that most people don’t know?

I was much into sports when I was younger. So much so that if I didn’t attend an arts high school, my life may have ended up differently.

Tyra6Close your eyes and picture “beautiful”. What comes to mind?

Someone who is confident in their skin with no worries. If I had to put a face to this, I immediately reference my friend Elise. Her confidence inspires me like no other!

What is your biggest insecurity in regards to your appearance? Do you know where this insecurity stems from?

I am sometimes insecure about my body because I always see super-babe models.

If you could look like someone else who would it be? If offered the chance to look like them instead of yourself for the rest of your life would you take it?

I can’t think of anyone I would want to look like because then I would just be a clone. No one looks like me, and therefore I am content with being me for the rest of my life.

What is your greatest dream?

To not be a struggling artist so I can provide for my mother so she doesn’t have to work as hard. Also to be happy and healthy!

What is the most amazing thing your body has done for you?

When I eat right, my body does such amazing things for me. It allows me to feel more active and be more free which is so encouraging because I begin to feel like I can do anything!

If you could give one message to women of the world what would it be?

You’re so awesome because you are YOU. There’s no one else like you. Don’t idolize photoshopped images in magazines, idolize yourself. Hold high-standards for yourself and remember that beauty begins from within. Eat your fruits and veggies, use all-natural products, and don’t forget to workout when you can! These things are important because they keep you living healthier and feeling good.
